Hi guys,

Since the fedora update i cannot run my eggdrop. Is missing a file.

./eggdrop: error while loading shared libraries: libdns.so.53: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I cannot even compile now as it states the compiler on the box is too old to compile eggdrop.

configure: error:

Tcl cannot be found on this system.

Eggdrop requires Tcl to compile. If you already have Tcl installed on
this system, and I just wasn't looking in the right place for it, re-run
./configure using the --with-tcllib='/path/to/libtcl.so' and
--with-tclinc='/path/to/tcl.h' options.

See doc/COMPILE-GUIDE's 'Tcl Detection and Installation' section for more
information.

Any ideas on how long it will take to sort this issue ?

Hello,

server was updated form fc12->fc14 and lot od sharable object were upgraded... you should be able to recompile your application.
If compile does not work, please let me know and I add all needed "devel" packages.

Is there an update on functionality for Redhat? As I understand it, there's some bigger server-wide issues that are taking precedence, but I wanted to make sure that the issues with phpMyAdmin are still on the to-do list.

Yep, I can access phpMyAdmin now. A bit slow-going, but accessible.

Unfortunately the upgrades messed up how our site interacts with the database, somehow, and I don't know PHP well enough to fix it, but I'm trying to find someone I can hire to work on it for us.

i do not know much about your site, but the upgrade kept the databases as well as the user content.
If you explain in detail what is your problem exactly maybe I can help you if it is a server side issue.

It might be an outdated code issue, the PHP coding is a few years old and might not be compatible with the upgrades, but that's just a guess.

Basically, the coding allows users to sign into the site with a username and password, which are stored in the database. This allows them access to certain parts of the site they can't get access to. Whenever someone tries to sign in now, it goes to the proper redirect page but doesn't log them in as it had before.

I'm hoping it's just a simple thing, but I don't know PHP well enough to diagnose it, unfortunately. Here's the code, just in case that's of any help:

I repaired your mysql tables (myisamchk -r *.MYI)
Restarted the mysql server and the http server and I was able to create an account and log on into the account:

Doesn't seem to have worked... when one logs in, on the left-hand side, the options change at the bottom to include "Your character", "Shops", "Skill Shops", and "Log Out".

Currently, the login page redirects to "main.php", but still doesn't log in.

Indeed, phpmyadmin had some problems after the Fedora 13 upgrade... but it has been solved and now it works well.
