A bit of Apache help

Hi all,

I have a file that I must automatically open through wget every hour on my site.
This totally ruins all statistics.
How can I make it so that this file is not included in the access log?

hi,

access log is quite objective and it is hard to affect (except the line format)... but it is more likely to have a possibility to ignore some files during collecting the statistical data - either with external programs (like "grep -vi" for example) or with the stat application itself.

You could either:
1. View your logs through a filter e.g. try
http://www.polarhome.com:763/~miker/seelog.php?flag
(will only show you lines with "flag" in them,) - roll your own to do whatever you want - use a shell script for quick-&-dirty programming

2. Use an analyser (my personal preference is Webalizer) which you can configure to ignore as you see fit.

I installed Webalizer.
It's not nearly as good as my hosts analysis tool (I'd imagine its some enterprise one licensed from another company) but it will have to do.
