problem with space quota when i install UNREALIRCD

i have problem on redhat when i install unrealircd with the space quota
hda2: write failed, user block limit reached.
/tmp/ccBx2oE1.o: No space left on device

its say no space left, what is the problem? shells get 50mb quota
do i have 50mb or what?

when i type quota in the shell its show me:

If you read it, you would see that its complaining about hda2, whereas your 50MB is on hdd.

Look at where you are installing it.

Upon further inspection, it seems you are rather oddly trying to install your ircd into /var.

Try using your home directory where your larger quota applies.

Note hdd1 = /home whereas you're trying to use hda2 which is /var.

you do have 50M but on your home and not in /tmp...

You should redefine the TMP environment variable or do the task on some other way where you use your your home directory insted.

i will explain myself from the begining
i login to the shell then i have:
eyal123@redhat~$
i type wget to download the ircd and then tar zxfv unrealircd
then i type cd Unreal3.2 after that i type: ./config and when its finished i type: make and then there is problem i upload a pic that you will see the problem

what do you mean in your home directory insted
i install it on my home directory
can you tell me what to do to fix that in commands?
and Zoli or Sjaz please login in my username and fix that for me.
beacuse i having trouble with this. and i dont know to fix that

I am exremely *not* knowleagable about Un*x, but from the example you posted you are attempting to create .o (object files?) in /tmp/

Check your script.

exactly as Mike told you... you create files in the /tmp directory and you do not have enough disk quota to do that.

You should modify the make file in order to use your home directory instead where you have plenty of space.

Zoli do have icq or messenger?

or Zoli please check this try to login in my username: eyal123 and then do Cd Unreal3.2 and type make and you will see the problem
and fix that, beacuse i want to finish that and

2 days is nothing when you are not paying for a service. If you expect that kind of business level support you would be expected to pay for a decent service level.

I will look at the problem and hopefully fix it, but yes, I am currently working on my lunch break.

No, its a small problem.

You need to set the environment variables for temp up to a directory in your homedir.

I have tried this and it still doesn't appear to work. I have a meeting now, I will return in around 1 hour.

FWIW, you are installing a very old version of unreal, so I have updated this.

this problem is problem of this shell, i cant find answer on the net, i just want to get answers if i asked, and if there is a problems i want they get fixed, beacuse i cant fixed them not you and not someone except the root admin- Zoli, you can ask Sjaz about the first problem he also didnt get fixed the problem also tell me to update the ircd, now you need to understand if there is problem in the shell only Zoli can fixed problem, Zoli is busy man, and dont have time, but i except when he login to forum or website that he can fixed the problem same time, beacuse he is root admin.

so now like you see in the pic, there is problem on virtual memory. and its need Zoli to fixed that.
like i see here in the forums there was another user: Spy that was same problem when install ircd with the virtual memory and Zoli fixed his problem.
so now i just wait to Zoli that will fixed my problem in the picture about the virtual memory.

There is no organized "good support" on Polarhome.
You depend upon the good will and free time of the other users, and Zoli. A good way to lose that goodwill is to complain, demand and be impatient

Both Chaz and Zoli have been extremely patient with you, and hopefully your current problem has been solved.

However, in future do make at least a minimal attempt to solve your own problem: If e.g. you lack virtual memory to link in, learn how to link using less memory; (Note: I haven't got the faintest idea of how to do that on Linux, but it's possible on VMS, and I'm sure there are ways on RH also -- who did you ask; where did you look?)

Hoping you will enjoy learning by solving your own problems -- and maybe grow to help others with theirs!
