Access Denied on redhat

Postby stn » Tue Mar 28, 2006 10:39 pm

Hi,

today I noticed that my account 'stn' on redhat.polarhome.com is access denied. Could someone please check why?

Thanks, Stefan

Hi,

you have a shell account right? (I mean, you paid for shell before, you don't just have a template account)

I think redhat might be down. I cannot access it from aix or alpha.

Well i am not even having connection with the ordinary telnet client . With SSH (putty) though it connects to the server but as stated above it denies access.

Hi,

the machine seems to work but it denies access. Other stuff seem to be down as well (my eggdrop does not get connected).

Maybe its something caused from upgrading the system to Fedora Core 5.

Please be patient and zoli will solve the problem. You can email to support@polarhome.com as well if you want.

hi,

right... upgrade to FC5 is not that smooth as I expected. As of now, all services are working except SSH.

zoli,

maybe there is some problem with wget or generally resolving some addresses?

For example:

afonic@redhat~$ wget ftp://ftp.eggheads.org/pub/eggdrop/sour ... .17.tar.gz
--19:42:07-- ftp://ftp.eggheads.org/pub/eggdrop/sour ... .17.tar.gz => `eggdrop1.6.17.tar.gz'
Resolving ftp.eggheads.org... failed: No such file or directory.
afonic@redhat~$

But:

afonic@redhat~$ ping ftp.eggheads.org
PING ftp.eggheads.org (207.195.39.240) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from thea.techmonkeys.org (207.195.39.240): icmp_seq=1 ttl=41 time=205 ms
64 bytes from thea.techmonkeys.org (207.195.39.240): icmp_seq=2 ttl=41 time=204 ms
64 bytes from thea.techmonkeys.org (207.195.39.240): icmp_seq=3 ttl=41 time=238 ms
64 bytes from thea.techmonkeys.org (207.195.39.240): icmp_seq=4 ttl=41 time=219 ms

--- ftp.eggheads.org ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 4 received, 20% packet loss, time 5050ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 204.052/216.720/238.645/13.987 ms

Also an eggdrop that I used to have appears to runs fine but it never connects or outputs any error message in the shell or the logs. I will compile it again later.
