problem with submit in php with> file?var=value

Postby ebaynet » Sun May 15, 2005 2:23 pm

in a php script ia have a form with a submit action...
Code: Select all
        echo '<form method="post" action=' . <?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] ?> . '">';

well if i hit the submit button i receive ...

No input file specified.

on a url>> http://www.polarhome.com:713/cgi-bin/ph ... lags=11111

one Question is ... that ".../cgi-bin/php-cgiwrap/..." is that part of the url ok?

anyway i each time receive this message when i try opening a valid php file and just whant to send vars via url...

what is wrong?

No, the URL is wrong

http://www.polarhome.com:713/~username/cgi-bin/

EXAMPLE:

http://www.polarhome.com:713/~ebaynet/cgi-bin/test.cgi

Remember, you need to have a SHELL ACCOUNT for CGI to work.

i dont need a shell account iam just wondering that a file locatet at ~usernam/public_html/file.php whein the line of code above is in where with....

echo '<form method="post" action=' . <?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] ?> . '">';

so
Code: Select all
$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']

means to me the actual directory where the file that calls is located... not the cgi bin directory ...

btw
Code: Select all
<?php
$ipadresse ="$REMOTE_ADDR";
echo $ipadresse;
 ?>

^^^^ this code gives out uffin ... why not??? ist should showmy ip adresse when i connect...

The point is that cgi-bin is SHELL USERS only.

No, I am not an idiot.

PHP IS NOT CGI.

You are running code from cgi-bin which is SHELL USERS only.

Yeah but it's the same as our servers for which you pay so much money are too slow. Our support sucks too as sjaz is trying to help you with your noobish problems but of course you couldn't appepriciate it because it's free as well.

We need such users, bye.
