change shell type

Postby erik_freebsd » Tue Mar 01, 2005 7:32 pm

how do I change my shell type on freebsd.oceanius.com?
I want to change it from sh to bash.
I tried changing it via usermin, but I couldn't do it.

Thanks!

Try "chsh" with nothing else and modify it that way. Sounds like a permission error to stop pw_mkdb rebuilds.

Either that or contact their root team to change it.

hi,

this is a known problem on freebsd... and I do not have any explanation, nor I have seesn any solution or it.

I (root) can change it for you - fast solution.
...and I hope that 5.3 upgrade will solve the problem.
Regards,
Z
