1. E.g.? Where does it not work?
2. I tried http://mandrake.polarhome.com/~madkids/
(N.B. the '/' at the end) and was redirected to
http://mandrake.polarhome.com/~madkids/modules/newbb/
-- so *something* seems to be working.
