Practicly, no.

As many as you like, without clogging the server.

Streaming audio from polarhome is a bad idea. Don't do it.

Background process aren't the problem. There are no limits if you use them reasonably.
Though polarhome has quite limited bandwith and it just wouldn't run anymore if everyone would have one of those stations here.
