Ollah amigos. . . :D
As a new learner I try to study many things. And this one is a must, if you are developer!
See your self = http://www.shoutcast.com/index.phtml -> ShoutCast D.N.A.S
http://www.tv5.mn/ ( port 8000 admin area ) has this server running, and i am amazed. If some one planning to run online tv, radio, he/she should use this software.

PS: Do you remember things in about 2 YEARS ago?
And NOW?
Everything is becoming simple as possible.

Yes, shoutcast is good but it requires a good processor.

Shoutcast ain't new lol

the shoutcast TV thing is rather new though, not the best quality of all streaming formats, but it's fairly good :)

btw chaz
it mostly needs ram, and before i broke down my network i had a 200mhz p1mmx with 128mb of ram that served on-demand mp3 to about 30~40 people at any given moment, the cpu loads were mostly 0.70~0.80 :)

Just download the client and the server from http://www.teamspeak.org/ .

You can very easily set up a server in your PC, it's very easy and you don't need a fast connection if you want to talk with a friend of yours, only static IP.

I was referring to a competent processing unit with respect to processor and ram combination. It does take a few chunk of juice though.
