Java on OpenVMS

Postby papa » Sat Feb 04, 2017 2:44 am

It's apparently supported, but I get an error when I run JAVAC:
Code: Select all
Unable to initialize threads: cannot find class java/lang/Thread

Neither HELP JAVA nor the JDK for OpenVMS User Guide are very helpful. Have any of you Polarbears used JAVAC or JAVA on ALPHA, IA64, or VAX?

It is installed on some VMS systems - but require much higher version of VMS.
I'll add this to my TODO list and fix it (hopefully) in the near future.

It's no rush. To be honest, I'm not sure I have enough hacking time to be able to learn Java very soon.

Resurrecting VAX LISP would be more in line with my current obsessions. ;)

I do not have anything against LISP.
If you find a package and a licence... I will be more than happy to install system wise.
