ftp impossible to debian

Hello,

I can't ftp to debian.polarhome.com (port 751). Login is ok but the ls command response hangs (tested with and without passive mode). I am using the ftp command line client from debian lenny.

Ftp to the redhat machine via the standards ports works fine.

Can you help me to ftp to debian, please ?

Indeed, with new firewalls the direct ftp is not possible.
I'll try some other settings on the firewall... meanwhile you may want to use sftp or scp that still work perfect.

sftp & scp works for shell accounts but not for restricted accounts...

ftp is allowed just for shell account as well.

Hi,

ftp is not considered as a prefered file transfer protocol...
It might be configured on the hosts... then it should work well within the polarhome servers, but most probably from the internet just scp and sftp will work.
