installpkg(1M)


installpkg -- install a software package.

Synopsis

   installpkg

Description

The command installpkg is used to install a USL-style UNIX system software package.

You must be logged in as root to install some packages.

You will be prompted to insert the floppy disk that the package resides on. Everything else is automatic.

Notices

installpkg is used for pre-Release 4 packages on the Intel 386 processor.

installpkg must be invoked from the console.

installpkg does not work on packages installed with custom(1M).
