accton --
turn on accounting
Syntax
/usr/lib/acct/accton [ file ]
Description
accton turns process accounting on and off.
If no file is given then accounting is turned off.
If file is given,
the kernel appends process accounting records.

used for login name to user ID conversions

current process accounting file
