SMIT Help Information for the SCSI Initiator

Description

Provides a short text description of the SCSI initiator device.


Parent adapter

Identifies the logical name of the adapter device to which the SCSI initiator device is attached or will be attached.


Connection address

Indicates the SCSI ID and logical unit number (LUN) used to address the SCSI initiator device. The format is x,y where x is the SCSI ID and y is the logical unit number. Note that the SCSI ID here is the target device SCSI ID when the host SCSI adapter is the initiator, and is the initiator device SCSI ID when the host SCSI adapter is the target.


Status

Indicates the current state of the SCSI initiator device. Possible values are "available" indicating that the initiator device is configured in the system and ready to be used, and "defined" indicating that the device is defined to the system but not configured.
