TODO list

Postby zoli » Mon Dec 23, 2013 11:56 am

Hello,

I will try to be useful during these days when it is less workload.
Here is the TODO list - that will most probably cause downtime on some servers:

HARDWARE
- DONE remove the old KVM and cables
- move over the remaining hardware to a single rack
- DONE rewire the network - provide 1G access whenever is possible

HOSTS
- DONE reinstall hurd
- DONE reinstall minix
- DONE migrate solaris from the current ultra to a new sun fire
- DONE finalize tru64 migration

CONFIG
- DONE hpux mysql account creation needs to be fixed
- DONE (with serial KVM) configure IA64 management port
- DONE add an ODS-2 partition on IA64/OpenVMS for testing the differences between ODS-5
- new direct port ranges needs to be configured (as many of the new hosts do not have direct ports)
- configure ftp access to use direct ports
- DONE redhat, debian, ubuntu, hurd allow again PHP and CGI access
- validate ident functionality on all hosts
- DONE setup slave DNS in order to avoid problems when the main DNS server is down
- DONE tru64 fix mail and userquotas

WEB
- DONE horde issue handling does not work since the database crashed - somehow recreate the damaged tables
- DONE enable forum, disable account creation in the forum, submit polarhome accounts as forum users on request.

This is the right moment to submit your wishes :)
Regards,
Z

That's it folks.
Now, I again need to concentrate on other issues - like every day life and ordinary work, but I will not allow any more to pile up the problems like last year.

There are two solaris servers now.
- the "solaris" a sun fire SPARC box running version 10 (unfortunately v11 does not support this hardware)
- and the new one "solaris-x86" on an x86_64 box running Solaris 11.
